Highlight Diffusion Filter

A switchable bloom on the bright parts of the frame for a soft, filmic roll-off.

Questions

What is free and what is Pro?

Free: the Standard and Positive Film looks with their adjustments, 28mm, Auto WB and Shade with the compensation grid, D-Range, and one recipe slot. Pro is a single one-time purchase that unlocks the other thirteen looks, 40mm, the rest of the white-balance menu, the Highlight Diffusion Filter and five more recipe slots. There is no subscription.

I bought Pro and it shows as locked again.

Open any padlocked item and tap Restore Purchase on the paywall. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, so make sure you are signed in with the one you bought with.

Do I need a Pro iPhone?

No. Full 48MP capture uses Apple ProRAW, available on iPhone 14 Pro and later. Other iPhones shoot 12MP RAW with exactly the same development. At 40mm on a 12MP camera the photo is about 4MP.

Why does Manual WB or CTE take a moment?

Both start from a fresh auto reading of the scene and then lock. Point the camera at the scene you want measured, choose the mode, and tap Measure to read it again.

Where are my photos?

In the Photos app, as HEIC files with full EXIF. Nothing is stored inside GR8 Cam, and nothing leaves your phone.

Does it collect any data?

No account, no network, no analytics. The only connection the app ever makes is to the App Store for the purchase. See the privacy policy.
